Of the countless stones she'd gathered, admired, and shared with her deepest secrets, only one had ever responded.

A tiny pebble, nearly worn away by the forces of nature. It was like all the stones around it, scored by the wind and smoothed by the rain as it was, yet she knew there was something special about it.

And so, she rescued it.
