Princess Edina of Griffenheim, heir to the throne of Gryphonia. Many would find such a prestigious title worth killing to gain. But unlike her parents young Edina has no wish to rule, no want for Imperial power or authority. No care for a political marriage or purified bloodline.

So she fled to Equestria, finding refuge in the simple life of a farm mechanic working under Mama Apple. Far away from the courts, the snooty noble admirers, the ranks of suitors fighting for her parents approval.

...and there, so far away from her old existence, she was finally able to live. Make friends, find a family in the Apple Clan, and eventually even found love in the embrace of a disgraced zebra spiritwalker.

But the past is catching up to the wayward princess, and sooner or later she will be forced to confront it.
