Peter, with validated curiosity would pick up the strange mineral to observe it some more...though it would seem the glow had dissipated on contact...which was quite a shame for the said young man. But not wanting it to go to waste, he was planning to keep it to maybe sell it or keep it as an antique, or even better, let Herc have as some sort of plaything despite the rare chances of the Beetle having that enough brain to really interact with it...That mindset and such will change in an instant once the large-horned insect would touch the gem with animalistic curiousity...
