Description:
“Yeah, that F-35 is so damn annoying, I can’t have 5 seconds with him without being reminded that she’s my replacement or something” Said a gray plane pony with red markings on their fur/fuselage, her turbofans located near the vertical stabilizers identifying her easily as an A-10 Thunderbolt II. She was idly walking alongside a white and blue plane pony, her four turbofans under her wings and her colour palette identifying her as a Boeing 747.
“Well… she might-“ the blue and white plane pony was about to say, before she was interrupted by someone yelling at the distance.
“HEY! BLITZY!”
The A-10 Thunderbolt, being called by a less than stellar nickname, looked around exasperated to see which one was the plane pony that dared to call her like that, atleast until she realized that the plane pony that was calling her ‘Blitzy’ was someone she knew very well. In an instant, her face changed radically from a hot-headed short temper Blitz to a happy toothy grin Blitz that was out of place for her.
“STURMY!” The alluded plane pony replied ecstatic, taking a little run and flying towards the relatively far plone, making a little sprint to land and hugging her. “Sturm! What are you doing here?!” She said, placing her hoof on her neck and nuzzling her friend affectionately, the second aircraft, this one with turbofans on the beginning of the wings and a familiar dark grey-cyan painting with green dots and a blue 01 on her cheek, smiled happily and nuzzled back
“I just came to visit my favourite flying brick!” The dark grey plane pony teased lightly towards her childhood friend, who, instead of physically assaulting her like she did before with another plane pony who dared to also call her a brick, just snorted lightly and joined the teasing “Don’t act like if you’re not a flying brick too, atleast I’m more durable than you! And still got my GAU”.
“No, but for real, what are you doing here?” Blitz asked eagerly, still nuzzling her longtime friend, Sturm looked at her smiling and replied “Well, I have permission to train with you guys for atleast 6 months, isn’t that amazing?!”.
“Oh wow, 6 months? That’s awesome!” The A-10 Thunderbolt replied, then, after a little while, both plones stopped nuzzling each other. “I’m really going to need to explain you so many things, so consider me your teacher” she continued, pointing out the fact that the Sukhoi Su-25 in front of her was from a different airbase and needed to get acquainted to this one.
“Oh no! That means that I’ll have to tolerate you? Noooooo” Sturm said sarcastically and a bit dramatically, her friend just snickering at her “Yes, and don’t expect me to be gentle with you!” she teased back, while they were joking about each other, in fact both plones were exponentially happy that they could have atleast 6 months together and have fun. High command said ‘train’, but in reality it was more like permission so Sturm could hang out with Blitz.
Meanwhile, a ground crew technician was standing close to both giant plane ponies and looked at them both in awe, he had come to know Blitz as a moody hot-headed pony that was hard to make friends with, but right now she was acting so out of character that it was baffling for him. He just only laughed and said “Blitzy?”
In an instant the A-10 Thunderbolt looked back at him angrily, her GAU-8 30mm rotary cannon moving forwards a little to punctuate her following sentence. “If you tell this to anyone I’m going to give you the BRRRRT!” she spat to the technician, pointing a menacing pony-sized hoof at him.
The soldier, who was pretty much in this scenario a little speck compared to the plones in front of him, just shut up and raised his hands in a fake surrender, an non-verbal message of ‘Alright alright, the old Blitz came back, I’ll shut up, don’t want to eat Depleted Uranium for dinner today’.
A drawing I made because I had the idea of Blitz, the famous A-10 Thunderbolt II plane pony, hanging out and having a childhood friend that’s also a close air support aircraft, in this case a Sukhoi Su-25. You might say that it’s ironic or nonsensical because Russians/Americans, but I just darn love cute stuff and this is supremely cute, so fite me m8 >:D
The Sukhoi Su-25 plane pony’s name is based off the word ‘Sturmovik’, literally ‘Attacker’, referring to a ground attack plane, in this case I cut it down to only ‘Sturm’, also because Sturm means storm/assault in German (Sturmgeschutz, for instance), made specifically to fit with A-10s name (Blitz is Thunderbolt in German anyways). And yes, I’m aware that is actually pronounced ‘Shturmovik’, but just changed it a little to make it similar to Blitz :D.
The colour palette used on Sturm is based off images of Su-25 where they’re dark gray/dark blue with cyan undersides, again this one it’s to make her similar to Blitz. She also has a few of green spots just like the real aircraft has, and also green eyes to fit with said markings (Just like Blitz’s eyes match with the red markings.)
PD: Yes, Blitz is Brrrting, I used that as a slight joke considering how similar they seem, but in this case you can assume she’s either purring or Brrrting, just that not actually firing anything.
