A re-upload of the comparison video with some tweaks in the audio. It's almost nightcore at this point, but it does it's job. If this doesn't work, I'll just have to compose a cover myself :P
Original Description:
This just had to be made! A side-by-side comparison of the awesome PMV, No Matter What, We’re Friends, and the ending sequence of Love Live! Season 2 that inspired it.
No Matter What, We’re Friends is one of the best PMVs in the fandom, and it's quite a shame that it isn't too well known. Its song, animation, voice acting and lyrics completely blew me away when I first watched it; the video was a big reason why I became a fan of Love Live in the first place. As you can see, Racecarghost did an fantastic job ponifying Donna Toki Mo Zutto.
Despite their different premises, Love Live and MLP have a similar appeal. They both are light-hearted slice-of-life shows with strong themes of friendship and reaching your dreams, and have a cast of adorable female characters. Even their fanbases are primarily made up of grown men.
But the two series are more connected than one might think. In the Japanese version of MLP, Applejack and Nico share the same voice actress, as well as Umi and Pinkie Pie (!!). In addition, the lyricist of the Love Live franchise wrote My Little Pony's Japanese opening, Mirai Start, which is sung by the voice of Umi.
