Description:

"Tempest Shadow is a unicorn from Equestria who has lost her way (and her magic) and joined the wrong side of the fight, acting as a henchpony for the Storm King. Jaded, angry and feeling betrayed by her friends in Equestria, Tempest has become the Storm King's second-in-command and chief bounty hunter, tasked with tracking down and capturing the Mane Six. She has agreed to the mission in exchange for reinstating her magic. But when she discovered that the Storm King wouldn’t restore her horn, she decided to help the Mane Six defeat him. And from that moment on, she learned that the magic of friendship is the most powerful magic of all."

Serving the evil Storm King was a spiteful Unicorn who has a broken horn and a broken history. When she was a filly, the Unicorn, once named Fizzlepop Berrytwist, was playing with her foalhood friends but they lost their ball in the cave of an Ursa Minor. When she tried to retrieve the ball, the ursa broke her horn and scarred her eye. Her magic became unstable and dangerous, causing her friends to shun her out of fear. That tragic moment in her life, as well as her new one in the harsh, egotistical lands south of Equestria, left Fizzlepop with an outlook that is the direct opposite of her former homenation's value (friendship) - enmity. She came to believe that friendship is meaningless, and everycreature is your enemy; friendship would only make you weak and in order to live in the world, you must only believe that everycreature is your enemy or else you open yourself up to betrayal and disappointment: "The best way to survive is all alone." However, when the broken-spirited pony encountered the Storm King, the overlord promised to restore her horn... if she would bring him any source of magical power that would make him the most powerful ruler in the world. Fizzlepop agreed, and made a new name for herself - Tempest Shadow! Donning the armor that all of the Storm King's minion's wore, she became his lieutenant and led the siege of Canterlot and capture the four Alicorn princesses, in order to fuel the Staff of Sarcanas, the object of power the Storm King reluctantly wielded. Her time in the south hardened Tempest's heart and increased her strength and skills to overpower those who got in her way. Of course, she found that her unstable magic could also be useful at times, like electrocuting anycreature that got on her nerves or punish those who betrayed her. But she would still not rest until her horn was repaired, and perhaps to punish the world for her tragic past. Even the Storm King had a sneaky feeling about her ulterior motive. It wasn't until Tempest succeeded in capturing Princess Twilight Sparkle to have her magic stolen, was she betrayed her beastly superior, and then rescued by the pony she spent the entire day hunting down. Tempest would then realize that, unlike the Storm King, friendship never betrayed her. And her new amity for Twilight gave her the courage to sacrifice herself and destroy the Storm King forever. Twilight welcomed Tempest Shadow - Fizzlepop Berrytwist again - back into Equestria as a friend once more.

While the Storm King was the true villain of My Little Pony: The Movie, Tempest Shadow was more of a BIG antagonist. Meaning, she had more screentime than her superior did. It makes me think that she should've been the villain of the movie instead. I also have another problem with her, and it has to do with the attribute that represents her. Like deathfirebrony said in a comment regarding her, she represents enmity, and that stymied an OC villain I was planning to create for my fanfiction series; this villain would also represent enmity - the very opposite of friendship. So I feel like I should create another villain with a different vice (which delays my project even further) or I have to use a canon villain as the overarching antagonist. Tempest might not have destroyed Equestria, but she sort of compromised my fanfic. Despite this setback, I will admit that she's a great character, as well as very beautiful. And Emily Blunt did a great job providing her voice. Even though Tempest does make a cameo in the 3-part series finale, I still wish she had an episode of her own.

For all those who are curious as to why I gave her the TV show style instead of the movie style she debuted in, I didn't want to go in that direction. I wanted her to merge design-wise with the other characters. Not to mention movie style vectors are time consuming and tedious. But if I feel like it, I'll make a movie-stylized Tempest vector. Besides, I always wanted to see what she would look like if she appeared in the show instead. She looks great, though I wish her eyelashes would be as long as they were in the movie. Because I couldn't find the right reference from the movie, I had to improvise, and this forced me to make her second-to-last in my villains collab. And I decided to throw in the storm background to represent her initial allegiance to the big bad storm-obsessed beast. I will make a bio of her since the movie, and with a more colorful background.
