Celestia has raised many children over her years [-]she has a tendency to “adopt” or full on actually adopt any children she comes across that she feels needs a parent. So she feels she has quite a lot of experience under her belt. Spit up? No problem. Tantrums? She can deal with it. Nightmares, homework, sibling rivalries, teen rebellions… not to toot her own horn too much, but she feels she knows how to deal with most situations with suprises being few and far between.

Of course, a dragon hatchling is quite new for her, as Spike was mainly raised by Twilight’s parents and later Twilight herself. So she knew there was bound to be some new situations to deal with. She’d had long talks with Ember, consulted with Spike and Twilight’s family, and was even sent some letters with “important” instructions by Smolder. They mostly consisted of lists over which gemstones tasted the best and how to practise fire-burping, but she appriceated them nonetheless. So, she felt like he had prepared herself as best she could when she hatched Pyre’s egg.

Still, she felt she was owed some leeway on her reaction here. She did have a history of things sneaking up behind her in the castle, and Pyre is the only one so far who could light themselves on fire.

My family’s doing a stay-inside horror-movie marathon for halloween, since we can’t really go out and meet other people. That’s perfectly alright with me being the unsocial introvert I am, but my family’s a bit bummed, as they really like halloween. But we’ll make the best of it :) They’ll at least be able to laugh at me during the movies -I hate horror with a burning passion. Keep me in your hearts tomorrow night, for I shall surely be awake for most of it.
