MANICORN

Manicorn (noun) man-i-korn

(1) : An alicorn with a goddamn chainsaw horn.

(2) : Also, there are no non-alicorn manicorns.

This is going to be my OC. I’ve been working him in my head, and after much deliberation I think I should try him out as a Grimdark Ask Tumblr. Please let me know what you think of this one, whether or not you think he would work, and what changes you think I should make if any. I’ve been paying attention to ALL the rules for “OC no-no’s” so I made this little concept art and we’ll see where it goes from there. That being said he is technically an alicorn, but he doesn’t have any wings due to being tortured as a prisoner of war. As an affectionate parody of every ‘manly’ story on the planet, I want to bring back the grimdark style with something that I don’t think has been done before.

Charles grew up in Manehattan in 1951. Being discriminated against for having a chainsaw for a horn, Charles was frequently engaged in school. Being raised by a physically abusive but ultimately caring father, he lived an aggressive childhood. About a week after attaining his cutie mark (which unfortunately told him that fighting is his specialty), his horn dragged him Rarity-style to a portal that took him to the human world. There he met and befriended a 10-year old boy named James Williams who raised him in secret, until he was drafted in 1969. Charles went with him to Vietnam, and there they covered each other’s asses. When the war was over his horn beckoned him back to Equestria, where he does his best to cope with his PTSD.
