The Queen of Swords is a symbol of direct communication, independence, and unbiased judgement; reversed, it means over-emotional or being cold-hearted. I chose the Sphinx for this one because… well, honestly it’s mostly because I love this riddle kitty. She does fit the reversed card better than the upright. She is definitely independent, though, and it could be argued that her methodology is rather unbiased — answer a riddle correctly or pass a trial and win or answer wrong and lose.

She sits on a throne with two swords at her back, symbolic of her sharp intellect and sense of balance. She also sits in a library, a sign of her vast stores of knowledge. She smiles, cunning but also eager to match her wits against you.
