part 5 of “living to tell the undertale”

As Strange quark and the human followed Toriel up the stairs, Toriel showed them to a series of buttons with a lever on the wall next to a torch. there was a door with the same symbol Toriel wore. Strange Quark began to wonder if the symbol had a special meaning or if it was decorative. “welcome to your new home you two, allow me to educate you in the operation of the ruins” Toriel said as she walked over to step on one of the stones but before she could reach it Strange Quark decided to try something to see if the Space stone still worked in the underground. Strange Quark imagined the other side of the door and the Space Stone sparked to life glowing with an intense light as a beam emanated from the stone humming and sparking with power as it pulled the space on the other side of the door to the space on their side of the door. as the two parts of space met a shimmering portal grew and the design on the door was warped by the bending of space around the portal as the stone continued pouring energy into the joining of space as the portal grew ever bigger until one could easily walk through even at Toriel’s size. through the glowing ring they could see the next room, the various levers and the waterways in the room. Toriel and the human looked at Strange Quark with astonishment. “AHA! the Space stone still works down here! we may proceed. Sorry Toriel, maybe we can learn about that one some other time.” Strange Quark said as he and the human stepped through the portal followed by Toriel.
