Twilight: “Wait a minute… there was no pandemic going on when this episode came out!“

Rarity: “Blame our ever punctual comic artist for taking so long to reach this point in the season, darling. Speaking of which, you should really be putting a bit more distance between yourself and us. Are you washing your hooves?“

Twilight: “I’m… pretty sure alicorns can’t even carry the virus.“

Rarity: “Better to be safe than sorry, is it not? Besides, you should be setting a good example for your subjects.“

Twilight: “Does this even count as a Season 9 comic anymore? Because this just feels like social commentary.”

Hope you’re all staying safe and responsible as we continue the Season 9 Retirement Party. Today’s comic is based on The Ending of the End… Part 1, I guess. This is basically just a filler strip; I wasn’t originally planning on making 2 comics for the 2-part finale, but after rewatching a specific scene in the first part, I couldn’t help but find it humorous in hindsight compared to the social climate we’ve been experiencing the past few months. I usually try to keep too much real-world stuff out of my comics as they’re just supposed to be humorous romps and escapism in a fictional world, and needless to say I don’t intend on referencing the pandemic in any other comics going forward.
