Otherwise, anyone could complete the PCs’ quest and anyone could stop a rampaging monster. There’s a heavy emphasis on “only you can do this”-brand individualism built into the fantasy.
We’re still chugging along with our weekly D&D games! This week we finished up our one-shot-now-two-shot in Theros. We hunted that monster.

Applejack: Ah still couldn’t see that with an 18?<br/>
Princess Cadance: Just barely. It was quick, subtle, and silent, and she picked a moment while you were distracted with the oven.<br/>
Applejack: Dang.<br/>
Twilight Sparkle: What’s a Princess of Love doing with such a high Stealth skill?<br/>
Applejack: Beats me.<br/>
DM: You can’t infer that she has a high skill bonus. …Could’ve been raw Dexterity.<br/>
