This is Maud and Spitfire’s first date.

Pinkie stepped in unison with Rainbow Dash, the blue Pegasus slinging her wing over the pink ponies back.

It was a natural posture. A comfortable, normal gesture. They had been married for almost a full year. BUT it was date night for Pinkie and Rainbow and they had gotten Pumpkin to watch Macarooni.

“Comfy?” Rainbow turned her head back, meeting eyes with the orange and yellow pony behind her.

Spitfire looked constipated, her stiff posture making Maud look over.

“Yes. Very.” Maud answered sarcastically. Spitfire noticed and sighed.

“I’m sorry, Mauddie…” Spitfire murmured, relaxing finally and hanging her head as they continued walking. Pinkie and Rainbow couldn’t hear them, but Spitfire wanted to stay quiet. To ensure they wouldn’t eavesdrop on their conversation. “You just make me nervous is all.”

“Why is that?” Maud asked in her usual monotone.

“You’re just beautiful. It’s amazing to find someone so radiant.” Spitfire awed. Maud noticed finally that her partner on the date had been staring at her. Maud blushed, but didn’t crack a smile at all.

Before long they made it to the Wonderbolts arena. They sat in their seats in a special box and the rumbling of the crowd fell away as Rainbow Dash and Pinkie began to talk. Maud turned to Spitfire, expectantly.

“I love you.” Spitfire blurted almost too quiet to hear.

But Maud heard. And all Spitfire could see was the small smile that Maud let out, the curve of her lips causing Spitfire’s wings to fluff.

“I love you, too.” Maud smiled a bit wider, never entering grinning territory, but smiling all the same.

“Okay, what just happened?” Rainbow quirked an eyebrow.

“Nothing!” Spitfire’s rues widened and she turned her gaze forward. Maud smile retreated then, her gaze never leaving the yellow ponies face.

Pinkie knowingly stared and Rainbow deciphered it quickly after, Spitfire staring in like an awkward pigeon and Maud just eyeing the only mare in the world that she loved.

“What a nice first date.” Pinkie commented, right as the show began to start.

Yes this is Maud and Spitfire’s first date, yes Pinkie and Rainbow are married.

Maud and Spitfire knew each other for a while now though. They were friends (friends being a loose word, Maud talked the most out of he both of them, that saying a lot) long before they started dating. Spitfire fell in love with the stone faced mare almost immediately and Maud realized that behind this tough, squawky exterior was a kind, gentle, loving pony.

They are a favorite of Sarah’s.

She got the idea for Mauds hair out of some anime called Violet-something-or-other. It’s cool. But she really took a long time on Spitfire’s hair. It looks badass.

Yes Spitfire and Rainbow Dash went to see a Wonderbolts show, this would have been before Spitfire quit, but after Rainbow quit, but before her group she created called the Skyfliers.
