Its very simple. I worked harder to make my OC. Dont even try to argue with that. Ive spent hours studying color pallets and designs just to make my OCs. I know that not everybody with a show style OC puts that much work into it, but its still more work than 99% of the people who make Neon/Black OCs. And heres why:

If I give you the entire RGB spectrum and say pick a color, you might have a tough time deciding, but you can pick one without much trouble. If I ask you to pick two colors, youd just pick you first color and pick black. Black goes great with everything, I mean why not? I love to wear black. A dark grey is perfect for some backgrounds, and black is a perfect go-to color when you need another color for your palette. Its an easy fix that doesnt take thought or effort, you can just slap it on anything.

Now pick a color, but it cant be white, and it has to be pastel (That means it is light and not very saturated, but not grey). Youll probably pick as close as you can get to your first color, right? Thats what I did. Now pick another color.

Oh yeah, Ill just add some bla- No. Black is gone. Theres no black, no grey, and browns should be used sparingly.

You might be able to pick a second just fine, but now pick a third. And a fourth. And probably a fifth. If youve always made red and black alicorn OCs, you are probably completely lost by this point.

So yes. It takes a lot more effort to make nice looking show style OCs. You have to study, and you have to pick from a VERY select group of colors.

Imagine you spent 3 years of your life doing nothing but becoming AMAZING at art. Say you had gained200 fans in that time. Youre kind of proud of yourself for how far youve come, and you should be. You worked for it.

Now imagine somebody comes along and starts drawing stick figures. Youll probably just ignore them, and nobody would expect otherwise. But then imagine 3 days later you see that they have gained 150 fans. Sure, youre still the more popular one, but you spent 3 fucking years getting to that point. Why the hell should somebody who has put absolutely no effort into their work be getting so much recognition when you are still so small?

They shouldnt.

That is why everybody with a show style oc hates red and black alicorns so much.

TL;DR: People with show style OCs hate non-show style OCs because we put a lot more effort into our work.
