Description:
Ditzy sighed as she walked her mail route. Emphasis, unfortunately, on walked. Ever since Twilight’s little magical mishap last week that had turned everypony in Ponyville into… well, practically every kind of creature but ponies, Ditzy had found herself regrettably grounded.
On the other hoof, she had to admit that temporary yak-hood had its perks — she had always been a fairly short mare, and though she was still rather small for a yak, she now towered over most of Ponyville, or at least the portion of it that hadn’t turned into even larger creatures. It was also rather fun to lift the heaviest crates at the post office all by herself, or let the Doctor and Dinky ride on her broad shoulders.
In short, while she certainly didn’t want to be a yak forever, Ditzy was quite happy to have this new experience. She just hoped Twilight could figure out how to fix this before summer — she didn’t relish making deliveries in 90-degree weather even at the best of times, let alone when she was wearing this heavy fur coat.
She blinked out of her reverie as she trotted up to the door of Lyra and Bonbon’s house. She checked her mailbag — yes, there was a package in there that somepony would need to sign for. She knocked on the door, shifting her weight absentmindedly. She hip-checked something rather solid, and she cringed at the sound of twisting metal. She glanced around and winced at the sight of the twisted mailbox.
She sighed at the sound of one of the residents of the house hurrying toward the door. “Okay,” she said. “This time, I do know what went wrong.”
