First day of October’s Gore Challenge: Amputation.Felt natural to use it to illustrate a canon scene for one of my OC’s, Morgana the Lunar Guard. Her squad was out dealing with a manticore they tried to herd back into the Everfree Forest. But it was stubborn about leaving its newly claimed territory and it came to battle to get it out of the pony inhabited area.
Morgana’s attempt at bucking it in the face instead earned her getting her hind leg caught in its mouth and get shaken about violently. She was still conscious and ready to battle when let go, but her leg wasn’t as the Manticore’s bite showed to be as venomous as its tail sting, along with the leg already shredded badly from the treatment.
The squad’s healer had to perform an emergency amputation before the venom spread further as the leg did not stood to be saved.Definitely… interesting to try and draw. As said times before I’m not much practiced in drawing gore so it is not the worst thing, I’m sure.
It’s supposed to look like the unicorn nightguard is helping holding her down to ensure she stays down as it’s difficult to focus on both a pain numbing spell as well as the precision needed for a quick amputation.
The healer’s outfit was just quickly thrown together and I’m not too satisfied with the design but oh well.
And yeah, I’m sure there would have been much more blood for something like this but I didn’t want to just smear everything dark for blood, ya know.Well, I think it didn’t turn out too bad, even if not too gory either. Anyways, enjoy.
