Time for another VA list for my characters in “Flurry Heart’s Story”, my headcanon sequel idea for MLPFIM. Remember, these VAs aren’t the people I would actually choose, especially since many of these are high-profile actors who would be far to expensive, but this series is just my own little idea anyway and I love doing these voice actor meme things. It makes me love my characters even more. :)

Spike/Simon – Now I know Spike was still being voiced by Cathy Weseluck in the final episode when he was all grown up, and believe me, I do love Cathy’s voice for Spike, but I honestly don’t think it fit him in that state. He should have sound more realistic for that age and I did a bit of digging (pun not intended) and thought of Simon the digger from my favorite anime, “Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.” Yuri Lowenthal does a great job with young male voices and I think Simon’s voice actually fits quite well with a more teenage-looking Spike. I think it translates surprisingly well into what Cathy’s Spike would sound like around 10 years older.

Tex/Kronk – I was having a hard time deciding on Tex, but while looking through lists of animated films, I saw “Emperor’s New Groove” and Patrick Warburton as Kronk was just perfect. I see Tex having a low, manly voice with a hint of friendliness to it. I don’t know if Patrick has ever voiced any guys with a southern accent, but I actually think it would be interesting if Tex actually didn’t have one like Applejack does. Either way, I think this pick for Tex is perfect. :D

Thunderhead/ BlackGryph0n – Now this one should be interesting! My friend, Gabriel Brown, is getting into voice-acting (he was Becky the Loon in Finding Dory) and if such a show were to actually happen, they would HAVE to have him in the cast! I wanted to pick Gabe for something in one of these lists cuz he’s got such great range, but also cuz I think his regular voice sounds almost exactly like how Thunderhead should sound. Sadly I can’t find any characters Gabe has played that sound like that, so the third image is blank, but it still fits wonderfully. I was going to put Alastor the Radio Demon in the third box just to let people know that Gabe did his singing voice, but yeah, Thunder probably won’t sound like that guy. :giggle: Also, Gabe’s favorite pony is Rainbow Dash which is rather fitting considering I chose Thunder to be Dashie’s hubby! :3

Lightning Flash/Blanky – I had to have at least one voice from one of my all-time favorite childhood films: The Brave Little Toaster! Blanky had a very five-and-under voice in the movie and was played by Timoty E. Day, a kid so good at doing his voice, they started calling him “One Take Timmy” during the auditions. Well Lightning is about five years old so this is a perfect fit despite Tim being obviously far too old for that now, but this is definitely what I’d be looking for in Lightning Flash!

Misty Blitz/Baby Pound – Rarity’s VA, Tabitha St. Germain, did the voice of Pound Cake in the show so she’s obviously very gifted with that sort of thing, and she would do great for a baby character like little Misty! :nod:

Melody/Ariel – Jodi Benson was the voice of Ariel in the Little Mermaid films and since Melody is supposed to be a singer and Jodi has an absolutely beautiful voice, this fit rather well. Melody’s role in the story I have planned for her is semi-minor and I see her as a character who would not be too prominent in the show, but important nonetheless, so if it were ever possible to get someone as big as Jodi Benson in a show like MLP, I think they might be able to do it. I mean hey, we got Weird Al in it you know? And yes, I am fully aware that Ariel’s daughter is named “Melody” too. I swear I did not realize that. ^;
