Phew, it took long, but I’m proud of it! Celestia was pretty fun to redesign, even if we had to keep her recognizable. I tried to give her some details reminding that she manipulates the Sun, like in her wings, her mane, or her eyes. ( I’d like to think that, the more she pushes herself and her magic, the more those details would become prevalent in her design, until she becomes a true symbol of the Sun. For example, when her magic is almost gone, her could mane become the shade of a sunset, symbolizing her possible decline!)

Gone is the chest plate, I thought it’d weigh down the design too much. Instead, her tiara became a crown, and she’s gained new, golden shoes. Her mane isn’t flowing anymore, but again, I think that would manifest itself the more she uses up her magic reserve. Her cutie mark is simple yet recalls the old design, but also reminds me of the Cardinal Points, which is a fun comparison, given her role as a guiding mentor!

Overall, it was fun redesigning Celestia, I think she looks a bit more formal now, and I still like both this design, and her G4 one!
