Description:
Firefly was surrounded by a sea of band merchandise and terrible emo manestyles as she made her way through the crowd, struggling to keep up with her big brother who casually walked ahead of her as if she weren’t there.
“Bro, wait up! Mother says you have to watch me, remember?”
Phil simply rolled his eyes. “Mother says a lot of things. I’m not responsible for your slow pace, so it’s up to you to keep up.”
“Nuh uh!” She protested. “You ARE responsible for me! She said so!”
The changeling filly trotted faster after him, crashing into her brother’s backside as he came to a stop.
He glared down at her. “Now quiet down. I’ve been saving for tickets for months, and I will not let babysitting ruin this experience.”
Before Firefly could reply, her brain was suddenly rattled by an ear-piercing guitar riff. Up on the stage, a pony wearing black makeup and piercings like her brother’s appeared and started screaming into the microphone.
“It’s time to do it now and do it loud! Killjoys, make some noise!”
Phil yelled out with the rest of the crowd, emotions Firefly couldn’t name spreading across his face as she covered her ears and waited for the song to be over.
“Why do you like this music?” She asked once there was a lull in the music. “It sucks butt!”
“It reflects my deep anguish and longing for death,” he replied.
“Come on bro, there’s nothing to be sad about!” Firefly scoffed. “What problems do you even have?”
Phil closed his eyes and sighed deeply. “You have no idea…”
