Description:
Mulberry examines the orb. It’s smooth and appears perfectly circular, and is sitting on a small pedestal to keep it still on the table. The whole thing is a glowing pale gray color, and it looks like there is smoke inside it.
The mare pokes it, and notices some of the cloud seems to disappear. What’s more, it looks like there are tiny buildings inside the globe as well. What is this, a fancy snow globe?
She drags a hoof around the orb to move the clouds, and notices that the buildings are pretty familiar. Mulberry pulls out her map again, and indeed it looks like there is a tiny image of Mournthread inside the orb.
The only difference is that there are various sparks of red light glowing out of some of the buildings. What could this mean?
The mare walks over to the room with the dead body again. She still is a little wary about touching the body, so considers barricadign the door. Fortunately, the corpse is still strapped down when she returns. The mare’s gaze slides to the hole in the corner again, and is pretty sure it leads to Hard Tack’s store.
She isn’t sure if this is intentional, but it looks to her like the boxes and shelves have been arranged so that with some effort one could return to the floor above from here.
Mulberry considers the coded books. These would take some time to sit down and decipher, but it might be important.
Not to mention there are those notes that are in the fireplace still.
She glances at a small clock on the desk. It seems to be 5pm. It’s getting close to nightfall.
