Update on my newcomer group! First session went well. Spent most of it building characters, plotting backstory, and setting up the meeting of the four characters. Everyone seemed to be getting into it, and it only had one instance of blatant inter-party theft. Additionally, when inconvenienced by an NPC, only one player had the thought of ‘Well, I guess I’ll murder them!’

There’s always one, I guess.

I definitely saw a few faces like Pinkie’s during that first game though. It’s all fun and games until the DM asks you in particular to roll the die.”

Twilight Sparkle: Great! So, does Fluttershy still have the crown?

FS: Well, I don’t see why n-

MD: Hate to cut in here, but, uh… can’t really end the session just yet, so Fluttershy can’t have it.

FS: Oh. I suppose she turned it in to the lost and found then.

Twilight Sparkle: Figures.

MD: I’ll cut to the chase. Don’t want to take up too much more time from everyone else. Fluttershy has to go to class, but points the way to Principal Celestia’s office. Celestia tells you that the crown is locked up till the Fall Formal is finished. Turns out the Element looks like the winner’s crown.

PP: That’s certainly a coincidence.

MD: Oh hey, guess who’d be the perfect party planner for the Fall Formal, and who you get to meet next Twilight?

PP: Me and my big mouth.
