A few days before Princess Twilight Sparkle’s official ascension to the throne of Equestria, Grogar informs his alliance of villains (Tirek, Cozy Glow, and Chrysalis) that he must leave for a few weeks to procure a powerful magic artifact to help them defeat the princess and her friends. In the meantime, he sends the trio to an alternate dimension using one of his other artifacts in order to round up an army to assist them, adding in that Chrysalis shouldn’t be afraid to use Changeling mind control on them. The three antagonists agree to the task, but secretly plot to use the army to help them betray Grogar. Arriving in the alternate universe (and finding that they are still in their normal forms), they come across Canterlot High School, where an assembly is being held in the auditorium and the entire student body is present. Deciding that it is the perfect target, they infiltrate the school, where Tirek and Cozy Glow successfully trap the entire faculty in the teacher’s lounge. Once they find the auditorium, they march up to the stage (much to the shock of everyone present) where Chrysalis performs a mass hypnosis spell on the students (including Sunset Shimmer and her friends), turning them all into mindless, green-eyed zombies. After a long and, quite frankly, disturbing speech from Cozy Glow, the trio of villains leads their hypnotized army back to the portal outside, confident that their plan for betrayal can’t possibly fail….
