Description:
Moonstone was going through some big changes in her life.
Mere months ago, she had gotten the proposal of a lifetime from both her beloved and her dear teacher. Not long after, she married Velvet in a wedding that nobody would ever forget. And now, she was preparing for a grand ceremony in which Queen Luna would officially recognize her as a Princess of Equestria.
She was no longer the commoner she used to be, which meant she had to make some adjustments.
The wedding itself was all that Moonstone had wanted it to be, but the aftermath was a disaster. The gothic decor and the inclusion of live bats in the ceremony became subjects of fiery criticism among tabloids and news outlets across Equestria. It wasn’t proper for a Princess to behave in such a way, they said. She was already a disgrace to the royal family.
Moonstone couldn’t let this stand. She strived to live up to the title she had earned, to serve her life’s purpose and bring honor to the ponies who’d helped her get this far, even if it meant letting go of certain things of the past. Even if it meant changing her attitude and style.
If that’s the way it must be, so be it, she thought to herself as she packed a box full of her old jewelry and other gothic accessories she had once taken pride in. Change is a part of life. I can’t let the past hold me back.
Swallowing the lump in her throat, Moonstone pushed the box deep into the closet without looking back. As far as she knew, it would never be opened again.
Composing herself, she took a deep breath and headed out to get ready for her coronation.
