Page 52 – Random Encounter

Yes, there is a Manticore creature for 4e. But I wouldn’t dare use that verbatim, since it’s a Level 10 Elite Skirmisher.

At some point down the line, I’ll share my own version of the Manticore for this particular encounter. Or feel free to roll up one of your own if you have the tools.

DM: On the canyon floor, you manage to find a well-worn path.

Fluttershy: So… no skill challenge this time?

Applejack: Don’t let that last one bother ya. On any other day, ya would’ve aced it.

Twilight Sparkle: If it weren’t for those dice…

Fluttershy: I know. I understand. I just want to succeed eventually…

Rarity: I can sympathize. Your character is very Nature-focused, isn’t it?

Rainbow Dash: Whatever. I’d like to face something that’s not a cliff or a cloud, please.

DM: You hear a loud roar in the distance. Coming down the path ahead of you is a large, angry manticore!

Rainbow Dash: Oh, that thing’s as good as gone.

DM: We’ll see. Everypony, roll for Initiative.
