Do you ever have those moments where you revisit a place from your past with the intent to redeem yourself- to fix things- when you’re attacked by a specter wearing your face from the past? I’ve tried, recently, to go back somewhere I thought I could fix. a broken fence I thought I could mend, but I forgot that specters still lingered there, remembering what I thought I could forget, and now it’s back. It’s back and looming over me, mocking me for thinking I could escape my past so easily. That things could be okay again. I just… I don’t know how to move on. The past has a vice grip on me, and I feel like if I let these things pile up, one day they’ll suffocate me, and I won’t be able to move forward anymore.
