Description:
Lucid sat by the window, hearing her mother’s sobs, her father’s cussing and her brothers punches. She was waiting for someone by the name of Arctic Lily. Lily was her guardian angel, and gave her the nick name Lemony. She was her “grandpa”‘s late wife, and she loved her visits.
“Hello my little Lemony. How are you tonight?” Lily said, settling down in front of Lucy, and pulling ehr from her day dream.
“I’m okay granny. Daddy didn’t hit me tonight. My wing are finally growing, and mom was almost healed today. Why don’t you help her?” It was a question she always asked, but never got an answer. “Please tell me, I love mommy!”
“If I helped you mom, your dad would just hit her more/ I’m sorry, but I will do what I can, I promise. Now I must go.”
“NOOO!! Please take me with you! I can’t take it anymore!” She exclaimed with tears in her eyes.
“I can’t you are still needed here, but one day, I will take you with me, I love you my little drop.” She said with tear’s streaming down her face. She gave Lucy a kiss on the head, and slowly vanished. Lucy got into her trashy bed, on her brown carpet, with the purple walls she had, to keep her quiet about the abuse. She fell asleep to Lily’s lullaby of ‘You’ll be in my heart’. When she awoke, her dad was being taken away by the police, and she was being introduced to a Marble and Beryl.
Year’s passed and,…..
Lucy was sitting atop a hill, watching the trees sway in the breeze, and waiting. For Arctic Lily. She looked tired, and worn out.
“Hello my little Lemony, how are you today?” Her usual greeting.
“I’m tired grandma Lily, can I go with you now?” It was the same question she always asked when she was tired or wanted to be done.
“Yes my dear Lemony. You are finished in this world. Take my hoof, and we can go.” Lily stood up and smiled at Lucid Lemondrop.
“You mean it?” She looked up at Lily.
“Yes, I told you a long time ago, that you could come with me when it was you time.” Lucy took her hoof and the faded away together. The next morning, Lucid Lemondrop was found dead, on her favorite resting hill, with a soft smile on her face. She had dies due to untreated cancer. Lucid Lemondrop was buried on her favorite resting hill, and it is said you can still see her siting there with Arctic Lily, as a filly, smiling wider than she ever did in life. She and Lily continued to protect abused foals, and take them away when their times came.
