Today’s the day, a good two years since Saffron Masala’s episode ‘Spice Up Your Life’ popped up, giving us the cute chef pone that loves to cook and be spicy. Though I had to post last year’s doodle early due to being unavailable, this year’s on the mark. Yays. Enjoy!

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-    With a gorgeous birthday mare like Saffron Masala, no pony can resist giving the sweet and confident mare a kind greeting after spending some good hours of her own special day doing what she does best, cooking exotic dishes for everypony in Equestria to love, and still have the energy to spend time with friends and loved ones outside the restaurant. With her walking out of the Tasty Treat with her father Coriander Cumin, she gets a surprise glomp from a silly stallion who can’t help but love the pone, snuggling as the two wrap their hooves around one another. Smelling the exotic flowers and spicy scents in her mane, the pony Sketchy Dupe nuzzles onto the purple curling locks that he considers beyond angelic and better than even the softest cloud. It’s almost hard not to fall asleep on such soft and well-scented locks. With a little compliment to the birthday mare and a small peck, the group join along with other ponies to celebrate the Saffron’s birthday, with a party planned out by Pinkie Pie and Rarity back in Ponyville. Delicious meals and treats were cooked prior throughout Sugarcube Corner to give the active Saffron a little break from cooking, despite her always being eager to whip up something delicious, no matter where she was. After an evening partying and eating and singing, the moon shines on Equestria as Saffron and Coriander go back home to Canterlot, the chef father hugging and giving a kiss on the head of her daughter, wishing her a happy birthday one last time before heading to bed. As the chef mare goes into her room, she yawns and lays right on the bed, passing out as she nuzzles and snoozes.

I had this sketch in the shop for some time now, planning to color it in sooner or later. Though with this little occasion, I figured it was a good enough time to give the sketch some life.
