Parodies several popular anime series from the time it was released.

For examples,

Mari, one of B Ko’s henchwomen is a direct parody of Kenshiro from “Fist of the North Star”.

B Ko’s suit, (later in the film) is a parody of Mobile Suit Gundam.

I believe the school teacher, Miss Ayumi, looks a bit too much like Lum from Urusei Yatsura.

Apparently B Ko’s hair style matches Minmei from the Macross series too.

Colonel Sanders, (KFC) is in the cinema scene.

When the fighters attack the alien ship, one of the ‘missiles’ is a Pepsi can.

Pretty sure I saw a couple of the school girls in the classroom that looked suspiciously like Kei and Yuri, (Dirty Pair).
