The day was finally here. Finally, after months of prep….and years of waiting, both Rasta and Casey were finally side by side at the Altar. Both had hoped for this day to come, through heartache and nerves, and now they would be joined together for life. Families from both sides were excited, none so much than both sets of parents. Midnight Rush and Island Breeze watched in simple silence, please to give away their daughter to the stallion she had always dreamed of. Powdered Sugar and Jerome could barely keep themselves quiet from their anxious happy hooting as they watched from their seats as Casey stood at the Altar with the mare of his dreams. He spent many years pining after what some called a “childhood fantasy”. Now it was becoming a reality.
As silence fell over the ceremony, a short older yellow seapony took his place at the podium. Swift Justice, the Mayor of the reef had happily agreed to officiate the joining of the two hybrids, quite moved by their tale of meeting, separation and their long awaited reunion. Clearing his throat, Mayor Swift spoke to the crowd.
Swift: Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today to join these two birds in sacred marriage. For all who know them, they know the tale of these two. I am new to it, but even I was moved by how a spark set so long ago…could still burn so brightly. I take honor in being the one to finally unite them as husband and wife. Do you two have special vows?
Casey: Yes..~
Swift: Let’s start with you then, young stallion.
Casey: looks to Rasta, cheeks a little red Rasta… The day I met you, I knew I had a best friend for life, heheh. I was so heartbroken to let you go, and always dreamed of seeing you again. Once I did, I just wish I knew who you were the very moment I saw you sitting at the table. I felt something so strong, and familiar just talking to you, and I couldn’t tell what it was until you called me Snowy. face turns more red I can’t tell you how happy I was to hear that, and finally be able to hold you in my arms again. It felt like I was meeting you, and falling for you all over again.~ …. I never want that feeling to go away. So I want to stay by your side for the rest of my life… You give me so much as my marefriend.. And even more by becoming my wife. I love you so much, Jammy.~
Rasta: Hehe you’re gonna make me mess up my makeup… sniffs Oh Snowy…You were my first first I made outside of the reef that I really felt a special bond with. I promised to come back one day…and it hurt so much that I wasn’t able to fulfill that promise until after you had left. ears droop a bit I was devastated when they told me you were gone….but something always told me I would find you again one day. I had to believe that little voice, even if it was just a small glimmer of hope. I’m so glad I did, you did come back…I found you again, even if we didn’t realize it at first…and now…I’m just so happy to be standing here, beside you, finally able to call you my husband. I love you too, Casey…so much…~
There was not a dry eye as the two spoke, and emotions were pile high with feelings of love and happiness radiating from them. Swift nodded and asked for the rings, the small grey owl colt, coming up with the pillow holding them. Taking them both and handing them to the couple, the Mayor spoke again.
Swift: Casey, do you take this mare, Rasta, to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?
Casey: I do.~ holds in a small hoot
Swift: And do you, Rasta, take this stallion, Casey, to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?
Rasta: I do…~ trying not to squeak
Swift: Then… by the power vested in me, and by the Island of Capricorn Reef… I now pronounce you Husband and Wife…you may kiss your bride~
Casey: tailfeathers wiggle fast before he scooped up Rasta and gave a deep loving kiss, fluffing up and purring
Rasta: squeaks, but kisses him back, tail wiggling wildly
The guests, Mayor and wedding party all clapped and cheered the now newlyweds. Everypony was happy to finally watch as Snowy and Jammy were finally bound together for life. A chapter had closed, and a new one had begun.
I have died everyday, waiting for you
Darling, don’t be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more
And all along I believed, I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me, I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more
