I’m not a brony, but many of my friends and Youtube subscribers are. Together with Djclyve I produced Ranma 1/2 Character Profiles on the manga exclusive characters. He’s also not a brony, but there are bronies among his Youtube subscribers too.
Last April we we profiled the character Shussemaru, a hideous shinto horse who goes berserk at the sight of accurate portraits of himself. As Shussemaru is a horse and his story heavily involves drawings of him, we slipped in this ponified picture of him as a quick little nod to the bronies among our viewers. To make this I composited Shussemaru’s eye, mouth, mane and tail from the manga onto a pony template that I found on DeviantArt. The ema background was also drawn by Rumiko Takahashi, she used it as a frontipece in her Rinne series.
Because I don’t consider myself a brony I have been reluctant to post this. The show is OK. In fact, the closest I ever got to joining the herd was the Equestria Girls movie. But in all honesty, I think the fan videos are better than the real thing. Still, after some consideration, I’ve finally decided to post the Shussemaru Pony here on DeviantArt for those interested.
