Just a little something I came up with.

Couldn’t stop drawing to save my life, and I was in the holiday spirit, soooo… I drew this! I also wanted to give you folks a break from my large texts of doom. XDSo anyway. Peeples, meet the reindeer version of Santa Claus! 8D Or, you know, my version of him anyway. o3o After quite a discussion in the comments below with you lovely lovely peeps, this is the headcanon we came up with so far:

He goes by many names. Santa Hooves, Saint North,(the griffons’ alternative to Santa Hooves), and the Bearded Lord of the North. His actual name is Polaris (or North Star, if you prefer) the Lord of Fawnland, and he is a demigod Cervidae (he’s basically the equivalent to alicorns, only… you know, a reindeer). He is magically and physically powerful, and very tall (I think he may be taller than Celestia). It hasn’t been decided whether or not he’s immortal to aging or not. I’m thinking he’s mortal; like a dragon, he has a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG lifespan, but he will eventually die of old age. He’s simply not close to it at the moment. o3o

As for backstory… Back in the warring times, before Celestia and Luna happened on the scene and he was MUCH MUCH younger, he would often go around trying to ease the sorrow and misery of the world. He’d bring gifts for poor, unprivileged foals, fawns, and cubs (I don’t think he’d just give gifts to one species only), guide those lost in the blizzard to safety, and protect many from hunger-crazed creatures. After the misery came to an initial end, he still continued with his gracious work, until he eventually was throned as the Lord of Fawnland.

Regardless of that, he still goes around every year to give out gifts, sometimes even on days that aren’t the holidays. He is the living legend, the actual Santa Hooves that parents tell their offspring about, and his actions started the tradition. c:

Polaris has a son (adopted, because he is sterile) I’m probably going to name Orion, who will probably be the MLP equivalent to Jack Frost. I’m not entirely sure on that part yet, but I’m workin’ on it. :3
