Faes are rarely much larger than older fillies (think young Fluttershy or Pear Butter) when fully grown. While the front half of their body has a normal pony coat (and could nearly be considered as such if not for their antennae), the back half – including their backs, bellies, and hind legs – are instead chitinous and hard.
