Direct cousin to Emeraldas, Aegis is more active in his royal duties. Demonstrating an expert grasp of war strategy, Aegis has served in defending Equestria’s borders from a very young age. Favouring defence over offence, any soldiers under Aegis’s command have held the line with minimal casualties. For this, he is called the Iron Wall Strategist. Prince Aegis’ knowledge of defensive strategy is represented by his shield cutie mark.

Aegis has worked with Mallet on several occasions, and calls on him and his company whenever possible. One noteworthy episode was when Castor had gone off to deal with a magical threat on his own. Aegis had spotted the unicorn galloping off to his death. He sent word to Mallet, and ordered his own soldiers to follow Castor. Once the enemy was in sight, Castor began his assault. Obviously this did not go well, and he would have died, had Mallet and Aegis’ forces not arrived to back him up.

The skirmish ended favourably for the equines, their dark foe vanquished. However, Aegis was reprimanded for acting on his own, and therefore lost his dominion. This however did not go over well with the people, nor with Celestia. She returned the territory to Aegis after a few protests from the public almost broke out into violence. Aegis accepted, and formally apologized on behalf of his subjects.

Currently, Aegis is visiting Princess Luna in Canterlot. He visits Lucy Clover at her residence on occasion. He is very much infatuated with her, perhaps, even in love.
