Prized student of Celestia, Twilight Sparkle has an uncanny ability to deconstruct, evaluate, and understand spells within seconds of seeing them. She can then use them to suit her own purposes in a moment’s notice. In many cases, she can turn the skill into something stronger than what she’s observed. Her skills with the blade are usually lacking despite having been taught by her brother. She’s admittedly no slouch in her swordplay (for an amatuer), however her talent with the blade is negligible compared to her more combat proficient allies. Twilight relies on her deep pool of magickal knowledge to more than cover her combat weakness. When she began her journey, she was a Unicorn, but made an ascendance to an Alicorn after a certain event. Many consider her winged self to be proof of Blue Magick mastery, but she will retort that the more she learned of magic, the less she felt she actually knew. Her journey in magickal studies, she feels, only began when she became an Alicorn.

Her life as a student can be summed up in one word: studybug. Years of her life have been dedicated to furthering her magickal potential (and much less so her swordplay potential), so when she looks back as her journey goes on, she gets slightly embarrased at how little there is to speak of other than her loving family, a few of her old (and neglected) friends, and Celestia this/Celestia that.

Her journey started with an abrupt relocation to a town called Ponyville under the cover of furthering her studies and being an ambassador representing Canterlot for a festival, but in reality it was Celestia sending her away knowing that Ponyville would be nearest to the epicenter when her corrupted sister returns. Celestia was taking a gamble, hoping her student would kickstart the path to her destiny while simultaneously end the Curse of Eternal Night before it spirals out of control. If the princess herself went, the chance to spare her sister from demise would be nil.

The five she met up due to the following circumstances would shape history as the world around them knew it. She became the de facto leader of the 6, and the first of the 3 to be named a Warrior of Light representing Princess Celestia. Her destiny was set in motion when Celestia, whom had observed the battle against her corrupted sister and the 6, noticed that Twilight copied her sister’s teleportation spell. It was a bit sloppy, but to do it after only seeing it once is beyond special. Before sending her off on the first mission to stop a monster infestation, she advised Twilight to watch how the monsters use their magicks, and see if there’s anything she can pick up on.

Solar Saber – A sword crafted in the fires of the sun (… or so Celestia said anyways) that has very sharp edge as well as Light magick enhancing enchantments. It shimmers and shifts colors just like her teacher’s mane. A gift from Princess Celestia for becoming an Alicorn.

Lunar Armguard – A small yet potent armguard worn on Twilight’s left arm that can deflect or even absorb most minor spells if properly blocked with. It shimmers and has a translucent aura just like Luna’s mane. A gift from Princess Luna for becoming an Alicorn.
