Grogar takes his apprentice, Tirek, to a dark fortress where he introduces them to the Cult of Erebus the God of Tartarus, before one of the guards report that someone has broken into the castle. Grogar tells Tirek to stay while he and the others find out who the intruder is, when Tirek senses that his master is in danger, he gallops to the top of the tower where he sees Grogar fighting against King Vorak, who learned that his son is still alive and has been under the evil influence of Grogar. King Vorak tries to get Tirek back to him, but Tirek denies him saying that he isn't his son. That's when Grogar attacks him from behind before King Vorak uses his sword to fight him off. Grogar is unable to get up before he tells Tirek to save him. Tirek hesitates but then he uses his magic to attack his own biological father before he could finish Grogar in one blow. King Vorak begs his son to return home with him and save him from certain death as he hangs onto the edge of the tower, but Tirek looks down at him grudgingly before saying, "Farewell...father." King Vorak then falls to his death as Tirek watches him for one last time before he helps Grogar and he tends to his wounds. The scene is similar to the one in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, where Starkiller confronts his own father before he kills him. It's also similar to the scene from Revenge of the Sith where Mace Windu has Palpatine cornered before Anakin turns to the dark side and cuts Windu's hand off with his own lightsaber. Tirek sees Grogar as a father figure who treated him with respect, loyalty and gratitude while King Vorak feared and hated his son because of his lust for power and when he found out that Tirek was still alive, he wanted to apologize for not loving him, but Tirek had already given himself to the dark side with Grogar as his master.
