Emerald tries to feel for wind, but no breeze blows by him. Perhaps he isn’t close enough to the outside yet?
Emerald instead decides to go north, and after sticking his tongue out and wagging his butt at the guard still struggling to break through, he makes his way towards the smaller passage.
As he goes the light from the basement room starts to slip away and Emerald has to slow his pace down. It’s probably for the best anyway. If he makes too much noise the guards might be able to here is hoof steps as well as… Anything else that might be in these caves.
After those thoughts leave his mind he starts to hear a strange, sort of sucking-like noise come from a bend in front of him. Peering behind corner carefully he sees some sort of insectoid creature bent over another of his own kind. The one on the floor appears to have had his eye and one of his heads smashed in, and the one still standing has stuck a rather long, pointy proboscis into him and is slurping up his insides.
