Hello everyone,

Welcome to another instalment of the "Introducing" series, wherein I introduce you to a character from my roster that I have never depicted before- and today, it is the turn of none other than Swift Missive!

Swift Missive is a 34 year old pegasus mare originally from Baltimare, and now living and working from Canterlot Palace as a special-purpose courier in the employ of Princess Luna’s Nightwatch.

A former member of the Solar Guard under Princess Celestia’s command, Swift took the transfer with nothing less than pure, unadulterated pride. Her role is to personally deliver messages to and from Princess Luna’s desk when the option of instant magic mail of any kind is not an option. Naturally, these are delivered almost always at night.

This is a mare that, with her physical conditioning, airspeed, maneuverability, and endurance, would have definitely and without a shadow of a doubt, have easily qualified to be a Wonderbolt- however, a life of fame and fortune is not for Swift. Only dedication to the Crown, service and sheer professionalism is her heart's desire.

However, it should be noted here that Swift, as befits the nature of her work, wears a more "civilian" mane and tail style in order to go more unnoticed while working. Her natural dark colouration does nothing but enhance this on her nocturnal missions, of course.¹

Swift is the sort of mare that eats military rations when off-duty. She does not enjoy what she terms as "frivolities and frippery," and hates wearing clothes unless absolutely necessary. This is a mare that refuses to drink alcohol, smoke, or take unprescribed drugs- this even extends to caffeine.²

Princess Luna herself has described Swift as "Always dependable, no matter the time or situation." Conversely, Princess Twilight said of Swift, "I've never once in my life met another mare who was more suited to a role than Swift." ³

While technically heterosexual, with no preference towards the species of suitors, Swift Missive is very much "married to her job," and is not interested in getting into relationships or having children.

¹. For her rare daytime missions, Swift can be issued a small, heavily enchanted amulet in order to give her a brighter colouration, as seen on most ponies. This enchantment is a specialised variant of those found in Solar Guard and Nightwatch armour sets. These amulets can be worn openly, or hidden within her mane.

². Other soldiers of both the Solar Guard and the Nightwatch have stated, "We don't understand how she doesn't like tea, coffee or those energy drink things that the Humans make. She's a weirdo- excellent at what she does, but still a weirdo."

³. Spike said of her, "She's all business, all the time- but you can count on her to get the message through, or to have your back in a scrap. I can respect that."
