Artist’s comment:
Stone Mane trotted into an apartment in the wing of the Royal Palace devoted to Princess Luna and her Night Court Staff. It was a Friday evening and tonight the young stallion was official on-duty as part of the Royal Night Court Auxiliary Unit; as such he was in uniform.

A proper staff hall was being created in a hall that previously had been used for small palace gatherings. However with other constructions in the Royal Palace it was now surplus to requirements when finished this remodeled room would be a combination conference, break, dressing, and assembly room for the Night Court Staff. However it was currently unsuitable for use. Being presently festooned with drop clothes, scaffolding, and building materials.
The earth pony made his way around and through clusters of ponies as he searched for the reason for him coming here. In corner of the hall he found his target. Applebloom was on the floor with some cushions doing her evening stretches before going on-duty. As Luna's Blade Mare and part of her Inner Security Detail the young mare was often right at the Princess's side during sessions of the Night Court or when she was traveling.
Applebloom looked up smiled at the young stallion as he trotted up. "Hey there Stone. Wassup?"
Stone tilted his head toward the Night Throne Room. "Hey there Thumper. It's the Sergeant-at-Arms. He wants to go over with you one more time the security arrangements for tonight's court."
The young mare rolled over onto her belly and look over at the stallion. "Ok. Gimme a second, and I'll be ready ta go!" From the shadows under her and the cushions she was lying on her servant emerged and started to flow over her. In a matter of seconds she was sheathed from her neck to her hooves in a form fitting glistening black garment.
Rising to her hooves she focused and from the gleaming black material there emerged a scythe of similar color but with a wicked edge. She focused again and it flowed back into her garment only to be replaced by a pair of sickles. Then a meteor hammer-like device followed by a lasso and a net. All of them emerging and then vanishing from the black material. Satisfied with the results she looked at Stone Mane.
"Okay let’s go."
A very recent moment from my Equestria dreamscape that I wanted to get down on paper so would remember details later.
