This is a sequel of this work. 🙂

I'd been making this work from 2 October 2023 to 10 December 2024 with a few very long breaks. I'm so happy I finally finished it. I wanted every detail to be worked up and it was so challenging to me. 😀

Opaline took out of the pocket the stick with the tip burning magenta, waved it in front of the Mane 5 and their cutie marks ripped off of their shoulders and sat on the necklace Opaline had with her.

‘It’s over! I’ve got your cutie marks and now I can safely take away the rest of magic. Muahahahaha! The next stop is Crystal Brighthouse.’ She pressed gas and the ship quickly took off and went away.

Misty made it to the five and saw that the magic in them was gone. ‘Oh sh*t! I'm late. You have no cutie marks.’

‘Yeah, it's too late, Misty’ Sunny confirmed ‘Now we need to have a new plan. But I don't know what to do now’ She, Izzy, Hitch, Zipp, Pipp and Misty took a silence to rethink.

‘Opaline took your cutie marks and is about to raze Crystal Brighthouse to the ground.’ Misty started to speak ‘But deep in me’ she paused for a moment ‘Opaline was my mentor for a long time but in some way I knew she wasn't fully sincere to me. I never thought the magic comes from some physical place. I have a feeling that the crystals are just symbols and will eventually reconnect as soon as our friendship remains.’ Sunny and the rest looked stunned at Misty as her back started to glow. Misty continued ‘I can still stop her. Now that I also have a cutie mark I feel more confident and I know what I should do.’ Suddenly she felt tingles on her back. ‘Wait! Am I… glowing? And what is that on my back?’ She saw that there was something that looked like a kind of sails, a little transparent and a little white with parts of red, green, blue, yellow and some colours. It was giving a strong bright glow. When it fully grew it turned out to be butterfly-shaped wings. She tried to move them and they easily gave a wave with a gust of wind. ‘YESSS!!! I have wings!’ Misty happily yelled ‘Now I can definitely stop Opaline and show her that friendship IS magic.’

‘Then go!’ Sunny told her ‘Stop her! Don't waste any minute! You know what to do.’. Misty took off and flew after Mare Stream guided by Opaline.

Opaline, guiding the Mare Stream towards Crystal Brighthouse, when heard stomps looked back to see that the blue unicorn with purple mane and pink horn, now with wings, barged in on the board. ‘You have never learned.’ she said to her former apprentice ‘And only look at those funny wings. Why shouldn’t I take your cutie mark as well?’ She pulled up the stick burning with the enchanted fire and started casting with the same spell she used to the five. However, Misty didn’t give her time with a left hook and a kick and the blocks Opaline had to do interrupted and blocked the spell.

They started to fight. The purple alicorn was casting spells with her horn and using attacking strikes but Misty maybe wasn't that good at magic but she remembered well the lessons of martial arts Opaline gave her and she was still good at defense spells. One of Opaline's spells that Misty managed to avoid hit the lamp with magic that was running the ship. The lamp glass broke into pieces, its lid tipped over and rolled to the side and with it the magic went away and the engine was gone. The ship's wings still held the ship in the air thanks to which it was still gliding towards the lighthouse. After a few more hits, strikes and blows and spells Opaline threw a punch spell to which Misty managed to cast a spell that hit back the ray and the ray went back landing on Opaline's wing, breaking it. Opaline whined but she eventually managed to handle the pain and continued the fight. Misty was a little stunned that Opaline could hold still and Opaline took advantage of it and pulled Misty’s butterfly wing and knocked her down. She stood over her and said:

‘Don't be afraid, Misty. You're just an ordinary mare with a butterfly wings spell. That's why you can't fight the power and that's why you can't get that magic stable! Muahahaha!’

‘Who said about keeping the magic here in condition?’ Misty said. Opaline at once looked with shock and surprise at her, then at the broken lamp and at the front of the vehicle. Misty took advantage of the distraction and pushed her away, saying ‘You've never learned to mind your surroundings, have you?’, quickly laid her down on the back. Grabbed the stick burning with the enchanted fire and gave a few energetic waves. One of the waves made the stolen cutie marks go away from the alicorn’s necklace. A split second later with another one she managed to take away Opaline’s cutie mark that ripped off of the flank. ‘My cutie mark!’ Opaline shouted looking at the mark flying away and leaving her without any magic while Misty put the stick above Opaline's muzzle. Now Opaline was aware that without having magic couldn't fly and was helpless. Meanwhile Misty's butterfly wings were glowing even more and more as she said:

‘For the record, the magic is not just seated in some lamp you broke. It is present in us all as long as our friendship lasts. Destroying Crystal Brighthouse won’t bring any bigger effects.’

‘Finally learned to do what is necessary?’ Opaline suggested.

‘I won't kill you…’ Misty waved with the stick, throwing a magenta enchanted fire that cut the deck in half, causing the rear part of the cockpit with wings to glide away, the cockpit itself also started to fall down faster. ‘…but I don't have to save you’. With that she spread her butterfly wings and flew back the rear, leaving Opaline. Opaline got up and looked through the window at the Crystal Brighthouse flying up, then terrain closing up. She closed her eyes, aware of her failure, waiting for her destiny.
