Despite being heavily pregnant and due with her firstborn at any day now, Melody insisted on attending the Grand Galloping Gala. Feeling she'd be lonely if everypony else except her went there, Chaos had no choice but to give into his dear wife's demands. At the gala, all was well, until the moment Melly and Chaos were in the middle of their kiss in their dance, she felt strong contractions, and her water broke. The inevitable had arrived, but thankfully, in the ensuing commotion, Chaos' twin sister Beryl, who luckily had been a midwife in training in the ob-gyn department in Ponyville Hospital and having triplets, quickly came to Melly's aid. It was a painful experience for Melody's first birth, but under Chaos' comforting and Beryl's guidance, Melody managed to birth their first child, a colt. Needless to say, Melly's birthing was the event that spiced up that year's gala.
