In some places, it's a well known tradition that smooches are ensued for anyone standing beneath a sprig or bouquet of Mistletoe, otherwise, bad luck is expected for the one refusing to do so.
(Yeah I now know that's not mistletoe but maybe it looks different in equestria U... sorry DX, I just know the tradition but it's not even a thing in the country I'm from and in my mind mistletoe just looked like that for some reason)
