Story - An Unexpected Interaction

Summary: Big Macintosh and Sugar Belle visit Highland Park, Texas, where they plan on a visiting a home, unaware that Bright Mac and Pear Butter are also visiting the same home. Sugar Belle initially doesn't know who her husband's parents are, until she later learns that Pear Butter, like her, is also an Apple Family Member, and that she is Pear Butter's daughter-in-law.

"Aww, doesn't this house look so adorable, Big Mac?" Sugar Belle asked her husband, as he was seen with the usual smile on his face looking at the house nearby and in front.

"Eeyup." Big Macintosh replied, saying his famous catchphrase, and couldn't agree less that a house in Highland Park, Texas is very classy.

Sugar Belle and Big Macintosh hugged each other, and they eventually saw the beautiful flowers that are behind them, with Sugar Belle smelling them, and they eventually made her look so flattered she just wants to give Big Macintosh a very cute flower.

"I just gotta take some home with me." Sugar Belle said, as she tried levitating one flower from the bush, but her husband decided that it's best they save that for another time.

"We can try another time, Sugar Belle." Big Macintosh told Sugar Belle, as he prefers his wife giving him a flower for another time. "While I do like these flowers, I rather let you give me one the next time we visit Texas, wherever we go."

"Um, okay then." Sugar Belle said, saving the flowers for another time as a promise, although still unsure about the flowers disappearing.

Elsewhere, Bright Mac and Pear Butter have just returned from their honeymoon in Dallas and they would be visiting Highland Park, the same location where Big Macintosh is, not knowing that Sugar Belle is also there.

"I sure do miss my son, Pear Butter." Bright Mac told Pear Butter as he really missed his son when Big Macintosh was a young colt.

"I wonder how he's been doing." Pear Butter comforted her husband, who is a little sad over losing a father-and-son bond between him and Big Macintosh. "He's been growing up so fast, that I just wanna know how he's doing now. And wait until you see him. You'll be surprised how big he has gotten over the years!"

"He's just as big as I am." Bright Mac said, knowing how much he and Big Macintosh share so much in common, just like Pear Butter shares something in common with Applejack.

Bright Mac and Pear Butter continued walking in the path that they eventually will see Big Macintosh as a stallion. However, when they arrived at the house that Big Macintosh is currently looking at, they realized that somepony else was with him, and they looked confused.

"Who in the world is that?" Pear Butter asked Bright Mac, getting suspicious that Sugar Belle was Big Macintosh's wife, and Pear Butter clearly did not know Sugar Belle, unaware they are relatives now.

"That mare is somepony we don't even recognize." Bright Mac told Pear Butter, as he is not familiar with seeing Sugar Belle before.

"We better talk with this pony, whoever she is." Pear Butter responded, resuming her walk and have an answer with Sugar Belle about her relationship with her son, which was really getting her attention. "I don't know if she's an Apple Family member or not, but I deserve the truth, and she won't be telling lies either."

Back with Sugar Belle, she and Big Macintosh are in front of the bush and they looked at each other, smiling, knowing they should get inside.

"Don't you think we should go inside?" Sugar Belle asked her husband, as she wants the people in Texas knowing her for the first time. "If we go inside, people are gonna notice me, and might adore me just as they do for you."

"Eeyup." Big Macintosh replied again, as he would allow himself and Sugar Belle in the building, seeing what it inside. But before Sugar Belle could open the door for him, they heard a voice from behind them, with Big Macintosh gulping for dear life.

"Hey, you!" Bright Mac pointed his hoof at Sugar Belle, demanding an answer from her that he and Pear Butter would like a word from her over her relationship with their son.

Sugar Belle was feeling nervous, as she never saw her husband's parents before, but she was left no choice but go and talk with the two anyway. Big Macintosh was eventually getting worried about this.

"Who are you and what are you doing hanging around with my son?" Pear Butter asked Sugar Belle, as she was curious that Sugar Belle is in love with her son since they first met at Our Town.

"I'm Sugar Belle." Sugar Belle said, introducing herself. "I'm Big Mac's wife, and I didn't know you are his mother."

Pear Butter and Bright Mac looked at each other, still suspicious about Sugar Belle.

"Oh, really?" Pear Butter replied, as she started giving Sugar Belle a smirk. "What makes you think you have married my son, hmm?"

"Because I loved him from the start and that I really just couldn't stop falling in love with him." Sugar Belle said, giving her speech towards Pear Butter and Bright Mac. "He's a stallion who's handsome and strong and can carry things around the farm.

"Don't make me laugh." Pear Butter said, as she didn't believe in Sugar Belle about what she said. "There's no way you could be my son's wife!"

"But... I'm telling the truth." Sugar Belle defended her statement against Pear Butter.

Bright Mac was sitting down and felt nervous over the conversation between his wife and his son's wife. "Um, Pear Butter... She has a point." He told Pear Butter, as he was understanding what Sugar Belle was saying seconds ago.

"Shush, I didn't ask you." Pear Butter said, shutting her husband's mouth with her hoof, suggesting he minds his own business.

Turning her attention back on Sugar Belle again, Pear Butter asked, "If you really are my son's wife, that means you are my daughter-in-law?"

Sugar Belle shook her head with a "yes", and Pear Butter finally agreed with her, finally realizing her mistake. "I see. Now we are relatives with one another." Pear Butter told Sugar Belle, hugging her for forgiveness.

"Son, sorry for the confusion." Bright Mac told Big Macintosh, apologizing for the misunderstanding that he and Pear Butter took on against Sugar Belle.

"No need." Big Macintosh said, as he already understood the forgiveness, and he still admits that his wife being the daughter-in-law of his parents is also important.

Sugar Belle, Pear Butter and Bright Mac caught up with Big Macintosh so they can enter the house that Big Macintosh would enter.

"I wanna know more about you both." Sugar Belle told Bright Mac and Pear Butter, hoping she knows more about her husband's parents, such as backstory, and more.

"We will explain later." Bright Mac replied, as he would rather wait until later and discuss about it. He eventually was the last pony that walked into the house, and he closed door behind him, hoping he and Pear Butter would know Sugar Belle more, as much Sugar Belle knowing them more.
