Continuing the Potion Nova arc!

”Are you sure you’re ready, honey?” Starlight asked her daughter who stood happily next to her.
“Yeah! I’m going to do so well in class!” Nova beamed with excitement. “Now, now, remember to make friends! That’s the School of Friendship’s number one goal for our students,” Starlight told her with a smile. Potion Nova was nine now. It had been years since Starlight had worried about Chrysalis’s spell, she almost completely forgot. But the poor unicorn still had nightmares about the traumatizing night of the former Changeling queen holding her with her magic then casting the most terrifying spell. The Queen of the night had visited her many times, and Starlight knew that Luna was worried about her. Nonetheless, Starlight kept the “spell” to herself and Trixie. She didn’t want anyone to worry about her, especially Twilight Sparkle.
“You know where to find me. The front office down the hall from your classroom. If there’s anything”
“Ugh, I know, Momma, you’ve told me a gazillion times!” The little blue unicorn said. “I also know where Mommy is, too. The guidance office two turns down and up the stair case. Simple. I’ll never forget it, Momma!” Nova smiled. “Great, dear.” Starlight replied, giving her child a hug.
“YOU’RE. GOING. TO SCHOOL. WEATHER. YOU. LIKE IT. OR. NOT!!”
Starlight looked up at saw a burly grey earthpony dragging her son to the entrance. Starlight quickly realized who she was. “Limestone Pie!” Starlight called to her. Limestone looked at her with a confused expression. “You’re Maud’s sister. She introduced me to you a few years ago, remember? I’m Starlight Glimmer.” she told her.
“Right. Sorry. It’s been a while. I haven’t been to Ponyville since I left the farm and moved in with Minuette,” Limestone explained. “How are things with her?” She asked. “Alright. She’s been getting back into school to finish college and her master’s degree in magical studies. So she left me with this to entertain.” Limestone said, eyeing her son who crouched under her legs. “Oh! I didn’t know you had a kid!” Starlight said, waving to the dark blue colt. “I didn’t want to. Limestone went behind my back and turned me into a freakin’ stallion so we could make him.”
“And you forgave her, right? A foal is a very special thing to have.” Starlight said. “Yeah, I know. I couldn’t be more proud of him. That’s why I’m transferring him to Canterlot Magic school for Gifted Unicorns when he’s going into high school.” Limestone boasted. “He’s gifted?” Starlight asked. Limestone looked at her with annoyance. “YES. OF COURSE HE IS. HE’S MY SON.” She told her.
You’re son? It doesn’t even seem like you wanted him in the first place. Starlight thought with anger. “Heh heh. Of course.” Starlight said with a fake chuckle. She gritted her teeth trying not to smite her. She let the awkward, rude conversation go on instead.

“Hi!” Potion Nova said, waving to the colt ducking under his mom.
He didn’t say anything, but her waved back. “I’m Potion Nova! What your name?” She asked him. “Um.. Timewarp Pie,” he mumbled loud enough for her to hear. “Cool name! What magic can you do?” She asked, looking at his horn. “Well... I haven’t mastered it yet. I’m trying. But it doesn’t work well.” He said. “That’s okay! My magic isn’t too good either!”
He smiled a small bit. “So are you ready for school?” She asked. “No. Not at all. Mummy wants me to do well so I can go to magic school when I’m older. But I don’t think I’ll do good,” he told her, looking down at his hooves. “Aw, don’t worry about it. Momma says friendship school is about friendship. You’re doing great with that!” She told him.
“Huh? But I didn’t even make any friends yet.”
“Yeah you have! Me!” Nova exclaimed.
Time smiled and small bits of blush formed around his cheeks.

“WELL LOOK AT THE TIME THE BELL’S ABOUT TO RING BEST GET INSIDE, SHALL WE?” Starlight insisted. She had just listened to that annoying pony drone on about how great her live was and how her son was the best of all.
“Ya hear that, Time? Starlight says it’s time to go, so let’s move it!” Limestone told her son, leading him inside. “That’s Headmare Starlight to you.” Starlight said under her breath.
“Yay! Come on Timewarp! Let’s go make more friends!” Nova said. The two walked through the friendship doors together, ready to take on the day.
