Mulberry reaches for the pistol again, and slowly approaches the hallway. The cook humming and singing can be heard as well as the general noises you hear from a busy kitchen such as the clanging of cookware, the chopping of knives, the the impact of a spoon as it mixes things in a bowl, and the bubbling of boiling water. Oddly, all these noises are sort of happening at once. Does he have someone else in there helping him?
Mulberry pokes her head around the corner and the mare wishes she could still be surprised at what she has seen.
The corridor is covered in blood pretty much up to eye level, with some of it dried and cracking, and some still fresh. On the floor are a pony leg and some other type of unidentifiable slice of meat with a bone sticking out of it. Both pieces are rather bloody.
