And Mesmeralda, well… I’ll be honest, she’s the one I’ve struggled with the most.

Since Radiance’s attack constructs depend on her concentration, I thought a counterpart for her should be based on distraction and being the center of attention. Mesmeralda is a born showmare, using her magic laser lights and smokescreens to keep herself front and center, while simultaneously making it difficult to track where she is. Haughty and flashy, she knows what to say to get under others’ skin and provoke them, only to be right where they least expect her. She’s important for support roles on missions, such as gathering intel or infiltrating security, “distracting” guards etc.

Unfortunately I have a hard time actually picturing what she DOES, like the execution of it all. I’ve thought about other power sets, like something with mirrors or something with costumes, but none of it feels right. The weirdest thing is that I tried to base her off of Rarity’s personality and dazzling showmanship, but I feel like somehow I basically just wound up with Trixie?? Maybe you all can help out with feedback.
