“Uhm… hello Starlight. Princess Celestia has several questions about your new kites.”
Does she like them? I painted them to praise her and discard all that same cutie mark nonsense from before.”
“So that is what they are supposed to mean?”
“But of course. What else could they be supposed to mean?”
“Well, it appears that some ponies all the way from Baltimare to Vanhoover have interpreted them to be a protest against perceived inequality under my rule and decided for you to be their leader in their rebellion against this.”
“What?! This is totally not what I had in mind! Surely all ponies cannot misunderstand my kites that way?”
“No. Some of them have interpreted them as worshipping Celestia…”
“Good.”
“…and by neglect as snide against me. Which is why they decided for me to be their leader in another uprising against my sister and you as the main target for lèse-majesty.”
“I just wanted to fly some kites!”
Now that little story above is of course just a little joke, though given the occassional readiness of Equestria’s population to make stupid decisions on a hunch it may not be totally unrealistic.
